Destination Imagination is the largest worldwide creative problem solving program for teams preschool through college. Destination Imagination has been an extra curricular program for several years at Blessed Sacrament . Teams can take part if they wish in a regional competition which progresses to a state competition and then to a Global Final Competition. Teams of no more than seven members choose from five published challenges. Each team's solution varies depending upon the imagination of the team members. Destination Imagination is open to any and all participants of every cognitive ability.

The mission of Destination Imagination is to foster the development of creative thinking and problem solving skills with emphasis on the "process." Great minds don't necessarily think alike; there are no set "right" answers. Those involved discover that creative solutions come from teamwork, cooperation and risk taking. Teams generally form shortly after school begins in the fall. The team members select their challenge to solve and spend up to 5 months meeting weekly to solve and develop the challenge. The regional competitions usually take place about mid March.
