Disabling the Proxy (Teachers) Print

Several teachers have noted that some sites are blocked from Student and Teacher use. This is intentional. One site that comes up a lot however is You Tube. While there are many wonderful videos at You Tube, there are plenty that violate the goals of the filter for the kids.

However, for teachers it is possible to remove the filters temporarily if you wanted to show one of the many wonderful videos at You Tube or similar sites that are blocked due to what I'll call "mixed content".

Here is the procedure, and please remember that anywhere you surf with this disabled is allowed. Anyplace. No really.

We have installed a simplified method for this in all teachers accounts. If you see something like the image below showing you are being blocked by the filter and you are absolutely sure you have the URL and content correct follow these easy steps. If you do not see the items listed below make sure you are running Firefox as its only supported in the Firefox browser right now. I'll repeat that: are you running Firefox? Because this only applies to Firefox.

Simply go to the lower right hand corner where you should see a green "P" as in Proxy is running.

Click on the green "P" for Proxy once. It will turn red:

Reload the page you are trying to surf to. It will no longer be blocked. You are responsible for the content at this point so please be careful.
