Home Computer FAQs Supported Software List
Supported Software List Print

What follows represents the software that we own or I will support on
all systems by default.  Allsoftware loading remains in my hands for the most part. This is due to
what I'll call the need to keep software consistent in a shared desktop
environment (aka one in which people can login on any system)

Any other software I evaluate based on its ability to be supported in
our environment. But this list I am working on being available 100% on
all XP systems. Some stragglers remain but I'm working on it.

If something on this list doesn't work, email me the hostname and I'll
fix it. I do not want people loading software on this list. It is
automated and if its not working I will fix it.

Things I will not load

Toolbars of any kind. Including Google and Yahoo. They garbage up the

browser for all users on a computer.

Anything that doesn't contain XP listed as a supported Windows Version

Other Media Players. Windows Media Player is good enough and many

others contain constant bugs and patch requirements due to security flaws.

Chat programs except for Pidgin (which supports AIM/Yahoo/MSN/Gtalk)

Please ask me for configuration help if you want IM support.
