Blessed Sacrament School’s SCRIP Program Policies
BLESSED SACRAMENT SCHOOL'S ENROLLMENT CODE IS 889C32971789
I. SCRIP is a program wherein gift cards and gift certificates are purchased through a company called Great Lakes Scrip (GLS). Blessed Sacrament School purchases the certificates at a discount and then sells them at face value generating revenue for the school and program participants. Anyone can participate in the SCRIP program. When SCRIP is purchased the school receives a percentage of the purchase from GLS ranging from 1.5% to 20%. School families have the benefit of receiving a tuition credit on SCRIP purchases. The tuition credit is determined by calculating the percentage amount earned, and dividing the percentage equally with the school – 50% of the amount earned goes to the school, and 50% to the participating family. The one time credit is applied to the tuition statement in April.
II. The maximum credit you can receive in the school year is the amount of your family’s tuition. The amount of tuition credit a family receives can be increased by soliciting SCRIP participants (e.g. non-school families, relatives, friends, etc.) who agree to designate your family on their SCRIP order. Non-school participants who designate a school family to receive the credit for their SCRIP purchases may only designate one family in a given year, i.e. the credit cannot be split between families, or designated to more than one family in a year.<
III. Purchases that are made beginning April 1st in any year will be applied to the following school year’s tuition. For 8th grade families whose last child is graduating from Blessed Sacrament School, purchases made after April 1st of the final year will be donated to the school, or to a family they designate.
IV. The calendar year for SCRIP will be from April 1st until March 31st of the following year. It is the responsibility of the family to monitor their tuition credit and adjust their tuition payments accordingly. This includes families who are using automatic withdrawal to pay their tuition. A statement will be issued after March 31st so families can determine the amount of their final tuition payment.
V. SCRIP certificates are purchased on your behalf, and are not returnable and cannot be exchanged.
VI. SCRIP certificate payments are not tax deductible because participants receive dollar for dollar value. If a school family does not want the tuition credit, they can still participate in the program and then make a direct tax deductible donation to the school for the amount of the credit they received during the year.
VII. SCRIP is ordered online by participants by a determined time (this year, 11:59 PM on the Monday of weeks we are ordering) with pick-up on the following Thursday in the parish center from 2:45 until 3:15 pm. If SCRIP is not picked-up during this time, it will be available in the school office for pick-up during school hours.
VIII. You must sign a WAIVER OF RESPONSIBILITY form before certificates will be delivered to you or released to a person you designate. These forms will be kept on file and Blessed Sacrament School accepts no responsibility for certificates delivered in this manner.
SCRIP orders may be picked up only when full payment has been made. Participants must remit their payment with a copy of their online order to the school office, clearly marked “SCRIP Payment” anytime before the scheduled pick-up time. Please make checks payable to Blessed Sacrament SCRIP. In the unlikely event that your check is returned because of non-sufficient funds (NSF), you will be responsible for payment of any fees incurred.
SCRIP certificates are the same as cash, and should be handled accordingly. We ask that you check your order at the time of pick-up, as we cannot be held responsible once it has left the building. Blessed Sacrament School will not be responsible for certificates that are lost, stolen or misplaced while in your possession.
