3K (Three-Year-Old Kindergarten)
Our 3K program is a developmentally appropriate, extra special introduction to school for our littlest Friars. This program is offered Monday - Friday, from 8 am - 3:15 with an option for afterschool care until 5:30. There is also a morning-only option with pick up at 11:30. Call us for more information. Please note that children must be able to use the toilet independently to attend 3K. Children in 3K wear the school uniform. -

4K (Four-Year-Old Kindergarten)
The 4K program is offered five days per week. The morning session runs from 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 am. The full day program runs from 8:00 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
Our 4K prepares children socially, emotionally, spiritually and academically. In addition to academic-readiness skills, children practice the social and life skills key to success in kindergarten and beyond. We focus on basic but essential skills throughout our day and through our play! Above and beyond the academic program, our overall goal is to foster the joy of learning so that the children will love coming to school, will be eager to learn each day and will become lifelong learners. Blessed Sacrament teachers support families in the faith formation of their children by making sure that the Gospel message infuses all that we do. In addition, children spend 90 minutes per week in our Cathechesis of the Good Shepherd atrium. -
Activities throughout the day all contribute to one or more specific goals within the curriculum.
For example:
- While "playing" with LEGO®s , children are using language (describing what they're doing, identifying colors, developing a story line), doing math (counting, sorting, creating patterns, developing spatial reasoning), developing fine motor skills (the skills needed for holding a pencil, writing letters and numbers, buttoning coats and tying shoes), and practicing social skills (communicating, negotiating, compromising)–all at the same time!
- During show and tell, our students become comfortable speaking in front of a group while the teacher nurtures their language skills—encouraging them to speak in complete sentences and to describe their ideas clearly and in sequence.
- While enjoying a story during circle time, children are learning to sit still, to listen, and to focus all the while learning about new ideas, new places and new things. They also absorb very specific pre-reading skills—letters are formed into words and words into sentences. They will even see (as the teacher runs her finger under the words as she reads them) that the words progress from top to bottom and left to right on the page!
